NOW I KNOW WHY MY MOMMY IS RUBINESQUE...

As I was conditioning my hair in the shower this morning, I took time to read my shampoo bottle. I am in shock! The shampoo I use in the shower that runs down my entire body says "for extra volume and body"! Seriously, why have I not noticed this before? Now I understand why I am so "full-figured"!
Tomorrow I am going to start using "Dawn" dish soap. It says right on the label "dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove."
It pays to read the labels, my friends! Now that we are so smartified...we decided to take a nap together in the sunbeams...I tucked in my paws and nuzzled my face in mommies neck and off to dreamland we went...two fuzzy gingerheads from the cozy cottage wish you a wonderful Memorial Day weekend...

CAT ART SUNDAY...

Welcome to our cat art Sunday...we are in the magic mushroom forest with Alice and the Cheshire cat... This is mommies favorite picture of me...

I wanted to share this beautiful picture of an angel friend...our dear Mr. Whiskers from Hawaii who went to the rainbow bridge last month. His mommy misses him so very very much.... He looks so handsome...it makes our eyes leak because our Buddy is also no longer with us...he just never came back to the garden after Christmas. I know these two special tabby boys are together in heaven...watching down over all of us...
I just love this origami folded ATC I saw somewhere on the web...look at that cute kitty and those yummy mousies...I bet my dear friend Roberta can make something like this...she is a master paper folder...

A dream day at the cozy cottage filled with friends who come by for a cuppa tea...after I wake up from my nap that is... All this merry month of May we celebrate the dearest friends we have in the cat blogopshere...Auntie Deb and ML! Please visit and say hello and thank them for keeping the CB up and running so we can visit, chat, comfort, pray and help kitties in need...

FUNNIEST FRIDAY STORY WE EVER READ!!!!

Lapdaddy sent this to us and we just had to share it because it is so funny! Mommy has to take pictures at a wedding today so she is going to be gone and I will sleep the day away on my pretty fleecy blanket...it is the same color as my wavy furs...i am almost invisible on it... Chap Stick..... We had this great 10 year old cat named Jack who just recently died. Jack was a great cat and the kids would carry him around and sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap all day long on the mat in our bathroom. We have 3 kids and at the time of this story they were 4 years old, 3 years old and 1 year old. The middle one is Eli. Eli really loved chap stick. LOVED it. He kept asking to use my chap stick and then losing it. Finally one day I showed him where in the bathroom that I kept my chap stick and explained he could use it whenever he wanted to but he needed to put it right back in the drawer after he finished because I used it sometimes several times a day. That year, on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around to try to get ready for church with everyone crying and carrying on. My two boys are fighting over the toy in the cereal box. I am trying to nurse my little one at the same time I am putting on my make-up. Everything is a mess and everyone has long forgotten that this is a wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is motherhood. We finally have the older one and the baby loaded in the car, and I am looking for Eli. I have searched everywhere and I finally go into the bathroom. There was Eli. He was applying my chap stick very carefully to Jack's rear end. Eli looked right into my eyes and said "chapped..." Now if you have a cat, you know that he is right - their little bottoms do look pretty chapped. And, frankly, Jack didn't seem to mind. And the only question to ask at that point was whether it was the FIRST time Eli had done that to the cat's butt or the hundredth!?!

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY...

It was wonderful warm weather yesterday! I spent the whole day out on the patio napping in mommies arms...then I cuddled up inside my blanket that Ms. Peggy sent me as a wedding gift. I dreamed of Mickey and how wonderful old love found can be...I miss him so greatly but I know he will be waiting for me at the gate one fine day when my name will be called up yonder...what a blessed thought...

Mommy wanted to show off her little red bud tree. It has a nice branch structure...she even tied a lace to the trunk so it can flip in the breezes...It is a Forest Pansy Red Bud. It will have glossy burgundy heart shaped leaves come summer that turn a golden orange in autumn. We can hardly wait...you all know how much mommy loves the autumn time at the cozy cottage. I hope you have a beautiful day...remember to smile and count your blessings.

A MOTHER'S DAY SURPRISE!

I hope you all had a most wonderful fun Mother's Day... mommies fun began a few nights ago when she went out to Lapdaddies workshop to re pot some of her African violets. While she prepared the counter, she moved a white bag out of the way so it would not get dirty from the potting soil. Guess what? It was full of dark chocolate orange jelly sticks!!! The workshop counter is no place to try to hide goodies...mommy could not resist tasting a few of them before she rolled the bag up again...they were so good. But we got found out because we rolled the bag back up to tightly...we were busted. Hey he should have hid the bag better, don't you think? So now to the surprise...mommy has always wanted a red bud tree for the front garden...we talked about it for sometime now. So when we got home today, mommy looked out the door and saw one planted right where she wanted it! It just appeared over night...a mystery! She was so happy and wanted to sit beside it and wait until the red buds opened up! Silly mommy... Lapdaddy arranged with our sweet neighbor to plant it for him while we were at church. Isn't he wonderful!!

Later today I am having my best oldest friend over for a tea party. Auntie Stinkie turned a glorious 19 years old yesterday. Please click on her picture and wish her well. She was Matron of Honor at my wedding to Mickey. Please join us for a walk about the garden and some tuna puffs. We can sit beside the pond and watch the fish too! Turning 19 is a milestone to be sure...I will be 19 on my next birthday in January, God willing.
