MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

WHITE CAT WEDNESDAY...

Good afternoon Miss Hunny Bunny...time to wake up...look at the clock! Do I have too?
Is there something interesting you want me to see?
Well....what is it?
I am waiting patiently mommy...
Bunny, did you bring that bug into the house?
Geez mommy, that's no bug. It is just a piece of a leaf. It is autumn you know and they are beginning to fall...can I go back to sleep now and finish dreaming about Seaborne? Maybe someday he might ask for my paw in marriage...sigh...a girl can dream can't she?

Sweet little red cats are greeting each other in the heavyside layers...

Sweet and softly little cat, how I wonder where your at.
Up above the stars so bright, like an Angel in the night.

SOFTLY SHE SLUMBERS

Yesterday was such a sleepy day at the cozy cottage...we all took naps after church from 4 till almost 9 o'clock! We won't say who slept the whole time...can you guess?
Cats are Wonderful Friends

Gentle eyes that see so much,
paws that have the quiet touch,
Purrs to signal "all is well"
and show more love than words could tell.
Graceful movements touched with pride,
a calming presence by our side --
A friendship that takes time to grow --
Small wonder why we love them so.

"But Iza gonna cher my stinken goodness wiz ya ifn ya wood like it..."
"Just donna make me walk the gangplank because I need to wish all of my friends a have a happy Talk Like A Pirate Day today!!!
Pirate Wind

The autumn wind's a pirate,
Blustering in from sea;
With a rollicking song, he sweeps along,
Swaggering boist'rously.

His skin is weather-beaten;
He wears a yellow sash,
With a handkerchief red about his head.
And a bristling black mustache.

He laughs as he storms the country,
A loud laugh and a bold;
And the trees all quake and shiver and shake,
As he robs them of their gold.

The autumn wind's a pirate,
Pillaging just for fun;
He'll snatch your hat as quick as that,
And laugh to see you run!

THE STRAY CAT SAGA...

Miss Hunny Bunny wandering in the backyard....hmmm what is this? OH NO!!!!!! Who is this stray cat??
This is Scrappy Cat...Hunny Bunny's mortal enemy. Scrappy first came to the cozy cottage garden last summer with her two black kittens in tow. She was just skin and bones. Now she is well fed and looking beautiful...but she is mean as a snake to Bunny and I have to chaperon any visits when they encounter each other. Girl cats have hissy fits!
The Stray Cat - A Poem For Children

At the end of the garden, Annabel got a surprise,
when through the hedge she saw two bright green eyes.
As she walked slowly closer, she crouched down to see
a small fluffy cat, as black as could be.

She held out her hand, and said "hello,"
but the cat just hissed and crouched down low.
Annabel thought, "What a silly cat,
Grandma's Buttons doesn't behave like that."

Buttons was fat, with shiny ginger fur,
Who would rub your face and gently purr.
He played with toys and climbed the tree
and fell asleep sat on your knee.

Not like this cat with his eyes opened wide,
he quickly ran away to hide.
"What a silly cat to act that way,"
but he came back the very next day!

Annabel was lost for words
as he ate the bread put out for the birds!
Underneath the fluffy fur, she saw he was thin
and watched him rummaging through the bin.

He came back every night and day,
to try and find food they had thrown away.
He started to eat it, it can't have been tasty,
Annabel thought she may have been hasty.

He wasn't unfriendly or being bad,
his face looked frightened and very sad.
If no one else had ever cared,
he probably was very scared.

Annabel spied on him, as off he sped
and spent the night underneath the shed.
Alone, hungry and with no name,
Annabel thought it was such a shame.

So she told her Mum and they looked out,
for when the black cat was round and about.
They would take out food every day,
sometimes he'd hiss and run away.

When he did they did not mind,
they knew he wasn't used to people being kind.
Dad put a catflap in the door of the shed,
Mum got an old blanket and made a cosy bed.

They called him Midnight and he soon understood,
that his life in their garden could be good.
Plenty of food and a warm place at night,
and if he didn't want to be stroked, that was alright.

Poor Midnight had been a lonely stray,
but now he had a place to stay.
He may not want to be cuddled, or sit in the house,
but he liked to play with a new toy mouse.

He put on weight, his coat glistened
and when Annabel spoke, he sat and listened.
She knew he was thankful for all she had done,
a special new friendship had begun.

911 NYC

Today we pause in remembrance for the lost and imagine a world without hate...how wonderful would that be. Only humans hate...kitties do not. They are not born with hate, it is taught...some things should never be learned. Love one another and God will be pleased...Amen

A BED AND A CHAIR OF ROSES...

So who do you think this chair is waiting for at the cozy cottage this weekend? When mommy changes the bed sheets, I don't waste a moment and jump up to lay on them. They smell like downy. We spent the day getting ready for our houseguest and forgot to read the Heathcliff comic book. But the good mews is that we are not sad right now...thank you for your thoughts and love this week...we so appreciate all of your tenderness... We will try and pop in later and show you who filled the chair. Can you guess?

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL...

My best friend Cole is starting middle school today...it should be a very happy day for him. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we always used to pick him up after school and take him out to eat. Our alarm clock always went off just before three o'clock to remind mommy to hurry up and get to school... We always let him pick where he wanted to go....IHOP, Taco Bell, Arby's, Jack in the Box, Applebees, Subway and then home here to see me and have a cuppa coffee before his mommy came to pick him up in the evening. We loved those days so much. We often never know what we have until it is no longer here.... When the alarm clock rings today I will be sad and cry a little bit...we do not have to go and pick him up. My sweet friend Cole has moved to a little town four hours away. Mommy and Lapdaddy will be brave...but I will be sad and cry some soft meowz for them, for Cole and for me. I hope that will be alright...When we miss the things we are fond of, we know we love them...and we love Cole.
