MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

MONDAY MEOWZINGS...FLASHBACK TWO YEARS!

Two years ago I was sick in my frying pan....
When I got a real bad cold, I recouperated in the frying pan under my fleece blanket for a whole week. I felt safe and cozy in there. Oh dear just look how thin I was. Mommy found this old picture of me in my frying pan after I got all better. I am still sleeping on the garage shelf next to the cold box that is blowing warm airs over my furs. I love my frying pan still. I now drink my water out of it on the patio. It is a very versatile utensil to say the least! I wonder what I will use it for next... Do any of you have a multi purrrrpose gadget?

CAT ART SUNDAY at the car show...

The beans took Cole to a car show yesterday and brought me back these photos. They are of the king of lovable rascal cats GARFIELD. Have you ever seem so many cool Garfields in all your life!? His ginger furs look like mine but we do not have the same appetite because I am very petite and he is....well......not! Mommy feeds me lots of good stuff but I just do not gain any weight. I told her I am watching my figure so it will fit into that wonderful wedding gown I have my eyes on. Mommy wanted to say how thankful she is to all who left comments about Scrappy Cat...we are muddling the situation over. We hope it will be a peaceful week...for us, for you and for the garden kitties.

CONFLICT IN THE BACKYARD...

We are having some very serious conflicts here at the cozy cottage and may have to take down our sign. We are not sure how to solve the problem. As you know, we rescued and gave safe haven to Hunny Bunny and her three kittens along with her mancat Buddy last summer. They now live in the protection of our garden and are free to come and go. Two of her kittens were happy to be adopted by their foster mommy. All was peaceful until a new female cat came upon the cozy garden and began to move in. We call her Scrappy Cat because she is small and thin and mean as a rattle snake! She would have been welcome if she played by the house rules which are simply to be nice to everyone. But she is very aggressive towards Hunny Bunny and beats her up mercilessly at every opportunity. Bunny is such a lady and does not know how to stand her ground and claim the garden as hers. Her white fur litters the landscape and her ears are blood stained and torn from defending herself. She now runs are the sound of a leaf blowing across the courtyard. While she once lay peaceful on the deck soaking up the sun...she now hides in the hosta leaves and scans the fence tops for this mean kitty.
Mommy does not know much about how cats relate to one another since she never had more than one indoor kitty at a time. We are very worried about our garden kitties now. Their peaceful life is threatened and we are worried that Hunny Bunny might lose her sweet purrrsonality toward our beans if she has to live under duress...
We welcome any advice or encouragement in this matter because we can see only one heartbreaking way out of this...

WIERD SLEEPING SPOTS...

Mommy thinks I sleep so nice on my cozy spotted blanket...all curled up round just like a sunflower.
Here is where I am aCATually sleeping right now. Yes I know what you are thinking...why am I sleeping on the bare wooden shelf? Mommy asked herself the same question.
So she made me sleep on the cozy blanket on the shelf. She really wants me to sleep in the cozy bed with the blue flannel blanket in it that you see at the bottom of the picture and the one below. It really is a cozy nest...but I don't want it just yet. I should, though... because I fell into the little girls room box three times trying to get up on that darn shelf to sleep!
Sometimes I just have to do things in my good old time...one of the benefits of being a senior kitty. Considering that I used to sleep in a frying pan...anything is an improvement. All's well....that ends well!

MY MONDAY MOOD...is BLISS

I hope you enjoy the collaged photos mommy made for me. I am all in daisies...so is the flutterby. These pictures just make us happy to begin the week with a smile. We like this word BLISS...it is on the header of our VICTORIA magazine. BLISS describes the way the old VICTORIA magazine used to make mommy feel...Highest Happiness! Sadly the new one published by Hoffman Media misses the heart of the matter completely...

We wish all of you a very BLISSFUL week....

CAT ART SUNDAY~my favorite portrait!

The cards are some of mommies cat art that came from Miss Tilly all the way from New Zealand... Over the years many artists have painted my portrait
and I have loved each and everyone of them. But this one painted by my sweet grandkidbean Cole is my favorite. He surprised me with it last week. I think he CATured me PURRRRRfectly!
I hope everyone will have a blessed week. It is the last week of August and that means little beans will be going back to school. Autumn is soon knocking on the season's door ready to take over the duty of coloring the leaves...we look forward to this after the long hot summer.

THINGS WE LOVE...

A beautiful sunny summer day.... My silly grandkidbean Cole...
Taking a self portrait!
We are all crazy about "I LOVE LUCY" at the cozy cottage. Laughter is the best medicine...
Mommy loves her Michaelmas daisies...
that Lapdaddy planted for her in her new soup tureen urn...I think it looks like a chamber potty...
Don't you just love these lemon yellow baby zinnias? Princess sent them to us! Thank you sweet curly sister of mine!
This beautiful chocolate brown sunflower is over 10 feet tall! These seeds came all the way from Petaluma and originated in Cape Cod a few years ago. They sure are making their way across the nation!
This peachy beauty is mommies newest day lily. It has ruffled edges and a yellow/green throat and is just the right shade of peach. She planted it to celebrate my full recovery from my surgery and that our Lapdaddy recovered from his heart attack. We named it 'HOPE'
So what is it that you love?

CAT ART SUNDAY

Cat Art Sunday is brought to you today by my favorite islander friends...Miss Tilly sent the pretty embroidered CAT art above from New Zealand and Miss Roberta sent the wonderful paper art below from Hawaii. Mommy is going to figure out how to make those nice tropical blossoms!

But today's post is really all about rubber stamps. This is mommies favorite rubber stamp because she says it looks like how I sleep in the first picture above.

I even wear a ribbon sometimes just like the sweet kitty on the stamp.

I think I could strike a good pose for a rubber stamp....
Oh I know it is not right to think more of oneself than one ought to...but I really hope that I can win the contest and have my picture made into a rubber stamp! If I could ask you to please go and vote for one of my picture #113 or #131, that would give me a good chance. The judges have the final say so regardless of how many votes any picture gets. But, having a cheering section might help...I thank you for your time in doing this favor for me.
The weather has cooled off here in the desert and that make all of us so happy. I have been sleeping in the kitchen in my Olive Garden bag for two weeks now. Mommy put in the fleecy pad we got from Meezer Rescue after we won a contest on my dear brother Dragonheart's blog a few years ago. Goodness I sure do miss him so very much...it is hard not knowing why a beloved friend no longer blogs after being so faithful in his postings.
May your week find you surrounded by love and happy thoughts and be peaceful...
