MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

SQUILLIONS ON SATURDAY!

Today I invited all of my Squillions over on to my Motorola. Please meet Hazel, Emma, Alice and Amber. They sure did have a fine time all warm and cozy. I could not get them to lay down and nap with me....so we just sat there and looked at mommy. Maybe mommy should get a Squillion of her own...HAPPY SQUILLION DAY! Thank you for all of your sweet visits to my blog over the past two years...today my counter has 55,000 visitors registered and I am so humbled by that!

BLUE SKYS AND SUNSHINE AND SNOWSTORM AND HAIL!!!

I will enjoy the days with a touch of mink...while I dream of a certain spring day not too far away...

We had the strangest weather yesterday! Sort of like how this month has been for many of us. Happy days and sad days, days when we thought we could not bare to go on and take another breath for sorrow chocking our way. Days when we were so surprise by a request of everlasting love. Will you be mine forever in marriage? This will be an unforgettable month for me in so many ways. My special tiny friend Normie will be watching me from the Heavens. My beloved bridegroom Mickey will be waiting to take me to the alter. My dear friend Isis has given the world three ickle kittens. The cycle of life goes on and on.

MEET MY FRIEND SCORTCH

Yes indeed you see right...my friend Scortch has lived here at the cozy cottage for many years now. He is a sweet little dragon with pretty shimmery red wings and a hide full of soft fuzzy scales. Yesterday he came out while I was visiting my friend Helena in England. He sat on my shoulder and suddenly let out some sooty dragon breath and said, "Wow look at Princess Dilly! She is so cute..." Then Scortch asked me if he should introduce himself to her and maybe even ask her to come over the pond to visit the colonies and escort her to my wedding.... I told him it is never wrong to do the things that your heart leads you too. Just because some animals are made out of stuffing, does not mean they do not have feelings inside of there. Do you agree? We need all the friends we can get...no matter what kind they are.

The End...? Or is it?

Oh this is she...the Princess Dilly who has captured Scortch's heart....on her trip to Ireland. She loves carsols as she calls them...but this is a church. Well, it could be a carsol...

THERE ARE PLACES I REMEMBER....

There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

Thank you for your friendship and your love.
However life may turn, this gift will be
A mountain that has made my river bend,
Nor will it flow the same way to the sea.
Knowing you is something I'm made of.
Years will not this part of me remove.
One lives for just a brief eternity,
Understanding truths that never end.
Nicholas Gordon
Dear kitties...it is with a very sad heart that I tell you my best friend has gone to the rainbow bridge. He was a most kind and shy little cat named Normie. He was as tiny as I am but had a heart of gold. Normie was a white & black Turkish Van kitty about my age. An accident with a car stole his tail when he was young but that never dampened his zest for the good things in life. He loved to eat nice treats and drink some of his daddies milky breakfast drink. Most of the day he spent sleeping in his cassita. When he woke, he would retire to his music room. He had such a passion for music of all kind. Each day he would send me his favorite selections for me to enjoy. Yesterday...I asked him to do me the honor of being my ring bearer at my wedding to Mickey. I told him he could wear a top hat, white tie and a tail coat like Fred Astaire. He would have a tail again of a different kind.... I was a little bit worried that he might be sad that I am going to marry Mickey. He always told me that he loved me but respected my love to Mickey as the gentleman that he was. I told him true friendship never goes away no matter what happens. Now Normie is gone to the bridge and I am so heart broken I can barely see to write....how do you go on when your best friend is no longer here for you to talk to? Kitties I implore you to love and live with all your might for tomorrow may not come for any of us. Do today what you want to put off until the next. Tell those you love that you do or you may not get the chance again. Though gentle Normie did not have a blog, he followed many of yours and loved Parker in particular. Normie was always bidding on my auctions to help out kitties in need and donating to their cause...Normie was a quiet hero who stole a part of my heart. His mommy and daddy are sad beyond words and my mommy has cried her eyes out. Please leave your kindest words of comfort for them here today...Life is as fragile as a cherry blossom...my forced branches bloomed today. Now they will always remind me of a small white & black cat with a giant heart who sent me the most wonderful cards...
"I love you forever Normie...your special tiny friend Miss Peach"

TASTE TESTER ON TUESDAY!

Yesterday I was pressed into duty as the official taste tester for the evenings dinner. Cole always comes home hungry from school so we put dinner in the oven at 3:30. Mommy is fussy about making sure all things are good and fresh so I helped. Mind you, she did not ask me to do this but I sort of took it upon myself to be a helpful cat. First I had a go at the milk...it comes in small cartons like we used to buy in Germany and is heat treated for a long shelf life of a few months.
Oh yes it is very good and creamy! PASS! Then I went on to taste the butter to see if it really did have the promised yogurt in it....lick lick lick...oh yes it is very suitable to add to the potato casserole.
Then mommy came into the kitchen and cut up some turkey sausage and offered me a small piece. Well kitties I did not even lick it. I do not like people food unless it is a dairy product. There were no leftovers...it was just too good! I must brush up on my cooking skills because soon I will have a husband to take care of. I hope he likes potato and turkey sausage casserole because it is hard work cooking, I am exhausted...so back to the Motorola.

WE'RE AFTER THE SAME RAINBOW'S END....

"Wistful Thinking"
Sometime, I think, there's got to be
A night that glitters just for me:
A gorgeous, swishing, low-cut gown
For wining, dining on the town.
Exotic perfume on my breast,
A fancy hair-style, all the rest...
With all that's shining in the skies
Reflected in my dazzled eyes.
Before I grow too old to wear
The dress...
The perfume...
Fancy hair...

YES! I will give you my paw in marriage!

ENGAGING CAT ART SUNDAY!

As I sit and ponder the question above...
my fancy turns to thoughts of love....
To sit under the stars above...
close to the one I love...
Dare I hope for it to be true...
Oh what will I say...
whatever will I do?
My destiny is written in the crystal stars below...
look close and the answer you will know!

AN UNFORGETTABLE VALENTINE'S DAY!

My beloved gentleman caller of well over a year, has chosen this most romantic day to ask for my paw in marriage! I can scarce find any words to to express all of my many feelings.
No finer mancat has ever been in my life. I adore his quiet strength and the respect he has in our community.

I was content to live out my golden years being loved and courted by Mickey the Black Cat.
Could it really be true that an old spinster cat of 16 years might finally wear a veil of white? Do I dare hope that this is not a dream...if it is, please never wake me. If not a dream, do I dare hope to accept his paw in marriage?
Together we traveled to many places and as our friends joined paws in marriage, we were part of the bridal party. I often thought, always the bridesmaid, never the bride. I must rush to his side now.....we have much to speak about.
I wish you all a most Happy Valentine's day.

I AM NOT SUPERSTITIOUS....not even today!

I found this calling card from my dear Mickey waiting for me yesterday. I am an old cat who is just a little bit nervous now.
As you know, Saturday is Valentines Day :) I think it would be nice for us to have dinner together. A very special dinner. There is something I need to ask you :)

Hugs & Kisses Moonshine Mickey Oh I am just a little bit nervous now...what will I wear? What will I pack? My fancy fan and some smelling salts, my new pink blanket in case I catch a chill.....oh yes, I am nervous. Please advise me....

MY FRIEND PIA WENT TO HEAVEN....

This card is from my friend Pia...she is a wire hair fox terrier who lived in Los Angeles. Her heartbroken mommy had to let her go to the rainbow bridge a few days ago. Pia was blind had been very sick for a long time and faced so many surgeries these past two years. I think she was the bravest doggie and stayed here for as long as she could hold on.We are having an old fashion Irish wake for Pia today. Please come inside the cozy cottage and sit with us for a while. We will tell stories of days gone by when life was good and share some bones and catnip in Pia's honor. Please leave a word of comfort for Pia's heartbroken mommy. She feels she can not face another day without her beloved fuzzy friend by her side.

One of my friends has arrived from England with my cousin Blue...

It has been a rough week for us as you can tell from our irregular blogging and sparse visits. My Lapdaddy will have lazer surgery on his eyes today so he can have lazer eyes like us cats. Please keep us in your best thoughts and prayers. We are tired of going to doctors this week. I love and miss you all so much.

OH TO BE SMITTEN KITTEN....

There is romance in the chilly February air...how lucky that an old cat like me can still find it. This beautiful photo page below was made just for me by the talented Leslie, Pyewacket's mommy! My perfect beau wraps himself up in a Valentine as he sleeps...
We have an old fashion romance he and I...
proper decorum at all times...A Valentine from his own paw...
Mommy remembers having to get a Toni home perm for Valentines day...something never did go right... we both love this sweet little photo.

This Valentine heart is my gift to all of you who come and touch my heart with your nice visits in spite of mine becoming ever fewer lately...please take it home and know how much I love all of you. You can give it away to anyone who has touched your heart in a loving way. Love never really blooms until you give it away....

Stay warm and safe. It snowed a tiny bit yesterday but I did not get down off of the Motorola where I am enjoying endless hours of heat therapy...Have a wonderful Monday.

A VALENTINE CAT ART SUNDAY!

This pretty Valentine was inspired by the Christmas card I got from my Mickey. I call it an abacus style card. I made it for the Cat Bloggers Social Club Valentines Swap. These are some of the nice Valentines I got this week. This one is my favorite from my special tiny friend Normie...maybe I should audition for a starring role. The wonderful water color portrait of me, next to Normie's card, was painted by Nat Dickinson. Do you think it looks like me?
Cole and the beans went to the movies last night to see The Pink Panther. When they got home they watched two more movies of The Pink Panther. Cole says that I look a lot like the Pink Panther. What do you think? One thing we all agree on is that there is no better Inspector Clouseau that Peter Sellers!
Well here is where I spent part of the afternoon soaking up some sunshine at last behind the big TV...mommy said I needed to be nicer to Hunny Bunny....just because I hissed at her a few times she gets all twisted up...geeeezz it is MY house after all...right?I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday, stay warm and happy.

VALENTINE MAIL DAY!

Oh kitties, I have been so busy today. All of my Valentines are going into the mail on their way to those of you who sent me beautiful Christmas cards.
I also got my first Valentine yesterday from Kadie King mommy of Sly Cat and Kon. The Cat Bloggers Social Club hosted a Valentine exchange and Kadie was my secret Valentine. She even made it in a peachy color, how cool is that! Well, as you can see, I have tossed my socks off like they were bad ingredients in a tossed salad...OUT! Mommy will have to put her thinking cap on and come up with something more clever...but she will not have time today because Friday is housekeeping day...at least she will be too busy to bother me...that is a good thing! I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. We will because Cole is going to get his cast off today and Saturday he is going to sleep over here! We will go and see THE PINK PANTHER at the movies and go to Church together on Sunday. He is always so gentle with me and I can't wait....is it Saturday yet?
