MISS PEACH'S COZY COTTAGE

Welcome to the COZY COTTAGE. This is the furever home of the memory of Miss Peach, our 18 year old Devon Rex angel kitty. I am Miss Hunny Bunny, she asked me to pour you a cuppa catmint tea as you read our old fashion mewsings about this and that. Please come by often...one lump or two? Now our precious Hunny Bunny is also an angel cat...please let me be your hostess at the cozy cottage...my name is Miss Hope.

Remember...only in our tomorrows will we realize what we had in our yesterdays.

BACK HOME AGAIN FROM A WEEK OF WONDERS IN THE WILD LANDS OF ALASKA!

The Emerald City never looked so beautiful in the warm sunshine. We are all so glad to be home again. Safe and sound after a week in the last frontier land, ALASKA...I missed you all so much while I was gone. I have slept non stop since I got home. Mommy unpacked and washed clothes all day while waiting on me hand and foot. I rewarded her by sleeping with her last night...even after she gave me a bath! We were warm and cozy and I purrrrred. It was the first night I have spent back in the house since June! The nights are getting chilly and mommy is happy that I came in. Tonight I slept in Lapdaddies lap for two hours. As soon as I have more photos from my trip, I will show them to you.

Well, I didn't sleep in a closet on our cruise ship! Here is mini me on silky soft Egyptian cotton sheets looking outside as the ice cubes float by...

Being gone for a week doesn't mean the world stops, so I have so much catching up to do. Hunny Bunny and Buddy are still in my garden as is the white kitten. The other two kittens are at the foster ladies house and will stay there and get some house training and adoption exposure. I am very happy about this as we want them to find forever homes real soon! Please keep your paws crossed that we can catch the white kitten so it can be loved and learn not to be afraid of people. My life is good and I count you all as my Blessings.....

We have one more chance to catch Buddy and the white kitten...wish us luck and keep all your paws crossed! We have to finish packing all of our bags and also my travel bag I got from my special friend Normie. I will keep my new Party Mix in it and the fish food for Manny...yes, he is coming along to the Kitty Kat Hilton too! I will leave you with a silly joke...I thought I saw an eye doctor on an Alaskan island, but it was an optical Aleutian....groan I know that was bad...I love you all and hope that you have a wonderful week being good to yourself and those you love!

I AM IN CHARGE HERE!!

So listen close and do what I say...
First you sit down...
Then you lay down...
Then you close your eyes and rest....
I think this little whippersnapper aCATually learned a few lessons from an old cat like me today! Feels kinda good showing the youth how things are done around the cozy cottage...
Hunny Bunny and her gray kitten are home again safe and sound from their ladygardenectomies. Mommy is so glad it went so well. Thank you all for your well wishes and concern. Please keep your paws crossed that we can catch the white kitten...we simply must before the beans leave on Sunday!! A lovely lady name Vickie from POPP will keep the kittens for us while we are gone for the week. Hunny Bunny and Buddy will be fed each day by wonderful volunteers from POPP. Since they are both outside kitties, they will be fine here in the garden they love. It is such a comfort to know so many are doing so much to help us along this road....

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY....DEDICATED TO ALL KITTENS WHO NEED HAPPY FUREVER HOMES

Please pick me!
The POPP receiving area is spotless clean and friendly. Hunny Bunny was impressed.
Mommy working with the red kitten in the garage...

All of these beautiful kittens in the top photo went on their way to the Spay & Neuter Clinic. This will give them freedom from becoming kitten factories. Hunny Bunny and her little gray girl kitten will be coming back here today. I hope they were not too scairt while they were gone to the operation place... The white kitten who ran away really misses them, it cried all day. The red kitten has been responding so well to mommies comfort. He has played with a ping pong ball and purrrred in mommies arms by the end of the day. Quite a difference from the hissy fit kitten he was yesterday! This is very good progress indeed. Hey! This is Wordless Wednesday mommy...stop talking and pay attention to ME!

CATSentration CAMP at the COZY COTTAGE!

Thank you all for your kind visits to the cozy cottage each day. It is a real bright spot for me. You see, I am kind of lonely lately. For one thing, I am sick right now. For another thing, the beans are leaving me at the Kitty Kat Hilton this Sunday for a whole week while they go to Alaska with Cole. But the worst part is that mommy has been spending sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much time with those invader cats and kittens that my little feelings are getting hurt! A sick old cat like me needs some attention too! Mommy did have a talk with me tonight after she came home and told me a few things that made me feel better. I saw that this afternoon she took Hunny Bunny and two of her kittens away inside of a PTU and only brought one of the kittens back! I asked her what happened to the third kitten and she told me it got out of the big cage out on our deck when she put in the litter box. Now we have to set a trap for it so we can catch it again, plus mommy needs to be more careful when she opens that doors! I asked her where Hunny Bunny and her gray kitten were and she said that they were going to Yakima to get spayed today and they will be home on Wednesday. The red kitten came back home because it needed to be tamed to human touch before it goes to make that trip. The POPP ladies are an amazing help in this whole situation. Mommy has no experience with kittens because she never had any. They told her just what she needed to do, and she did it, and guess what.....it worked! The red kitten was cuddled into mommies arms by the end of the night. These babies need to be sweet tempered if they hope to have a chance of finding a loving forever home. So I guess this is important work. I need to be tolerant and to share my mommy and Lapdaddy for this good work. I hope we can stay the course.......I am feeling much better and taking my medicine well, sleeping the day away in my CATraption dreaming of quiet days being the only cat at the cozy cottage who gets attention....thank you for being my friends and paying attention to me, I love you all. I want the kittens to have someone who will love them all too....just not here at my cozy cottage. Sorry if I am such a crabby old cat right now..mommy said I need to be a good stewart but my name is Miss Peach not Martha!

FAREWELL TO PIXIE...

PIXIE our beautiful banana Queen has gone to the rainbow bridge. She had such a special place in my mommies heart. You see, my brother Henry went to the rainbow bridge on his 3rd birthday from the same broken heart that Pixie had. Pixie had eyes like Henry and the same gray furs. Now they will play together, young, fresh and free. Henry loved ice creme and cherries, I bet they are sharing a banana split up on the clouds! I will miss you sweet girl...

Pixie

I once wrote a poem for Pixie...

~~~THE BANANA POEM~~~
What is this yellow thing upon my table?
You expect me to eat this?
Sorry....I am just not able!
Please don't follow me with it to my chair...
Look out! You are smearing it in my hair!!
Though it looks real pretty,
And it does smell kind of sweet...
Send it to my sweet furrrend Miss Pixie,
Cuz it's not something I will ever eat!
CAT ART SUNDAY...ACCEPT THE DARE!
"GO GREEN" and do what you can for the environment: Bathe with a friend!
original art card made by Barbara Snyderman CCCC
I know this post looks familiar, but I am continuing 'The Dare' from Karl and The Cat Realm with my card from above. So, 'I DARE YOU' to bath with a friend! I will also have some good news for you tomorrow, so be sure and pop over. Oh, and I have been feeling better today with little sneezing because I am taking my medicine like I promised I would. If you bigafy, you can see how wet I am. Mommy got a little mad at me for getting all wet, but I was thirsty and it is real warm outside today. OK I will take my medicine....
I spent the rest of the day napping out on the warm patio. Going to the VET takes a lot out of an old girl. Taking my medicine sure makes me thirsty! So to help conserve the environment and save mommy from putting out a new water bowl, I decided to take the DARE from the CAT REALM and drank from the water hose. We never waste any water here at the cozy cottage. Mommy even empties my old water into the flower bed. As you can see, I also do not need to take a bath today since I was able to drink water and get washed all at the same time! Now I think I will go and sleep in the sunshine again like I did yesterday...it is part of what Dr. Oliver ordered.
SNEEZY FRIDAY AND THAT's NOT GOOD!
UPDATE: Lunch time and I am back from the Dr. Oliver's office. He is the nicest man and has been my Vettie since 2001. I have an upper respiratory infection that is not to bad because we caught it early. He gave me better medicine called Clavamox. It even tastes good, just ask mommy because the first dose went all over her! I will try and be good and take it all. Dr. Oliver said I am otherwise a strong old girl for my age and condition. My tummy tumor is still growing slowly and because I have been spayed he does no think it will turn malignant. I want to thank all of you ever so kindly for visiting me today and wishing me well. You mean so much to me, you love and encouragement warm my tiny heart. I am going to spend the day out napping in the sunshine while mommy Hoovers the house and hovers over me like a dragonfly in a holding pattern!
Mommy is a little worried about me because I keep sneezing and licking my wet nose. Lapdaddy is going to make an appointment to see my Vet Dr. Oliver. Hope he can give me some better medicine than ClindaCure. I hate that yucky stuff! I am sleeping in my warm CATraption with my little heated pad under the velvet and fleece cover. Mommy does not want me to be sick right now because they are going to Alaska in a week. Is a week long enough to get better...any advice is welcome.
WORDLESS WEDNESDAY.....DEDICATED TO ROSCOE
Cole was able to hold the tiny gray & white kitten today. I think it looks like Roscoe must have looked as a kitten...don't you?
We will miss dear Roscoe and the wonderful adventures you brought into our lives. For every ending there awaits a new beginning...when we see the little kitten, we think of you. Please keep watch over all of us from above, we need all the guardian angels we can be blessed to have. Tanti Baci to my dearest farm boy from your Miss Peach
WHY CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS??
To honor my Uncle Joe who is having his cancer surgery today I am showing how animals can love each other. Thank you for all of your prayers for his recovery.
~THE DOG, THE CAT, THE RAT~
This is a video of a homeless guy in Santa Barbara and his pets. You
can see these guys every week working State St. for donations.
The animals, as you can see, are pretty well fed, and I can attest to
how mellow they are. They are a family.
The man who owns them rigged a harness up for his cat so she
wouldn't have to walk so much (like the dog and himself). At some
juncture the rat came along, and as no one wanted to eat anyone else,
the rat started riding with the cat and often, on the cat!
The dog will stand all day and let you talk to him and admire his
altruistic, we are one personality for a few chin scratches.
The Mayor of Santa Barbara filmed this clip and sent it out as a
Christmas card.
CAT ART SUNDAY
Today mommy held the gray&white kitten again! It is so soft and sweet! If you look at the ATC that came from her friend Roberta in Hawaii, you would think it was the kitten!
If you bigafy this photo, you will see that the kittens are all interested in the butterfly fluttering in the upper right corner. The ginger&white kitten is lifting it's paw at it. Today has been a very good Hunny Bunny family day at the cozy cottage.
The kittens are playing in the garden and the hosta's are paying the price.
My very special tiny friend Normie sent me this sweet travel bag for when I go to the Kitty Kat Hilton in two weeks....look at the message on the front....how true it is! Have a wonderful Sunday and remember to pray for Roscoe from the CatNaps In Italy...he is very sick and Opus is so worried about him as are his beans.
